Thank you for visiting my website.  It is a great honor to serve as your King County Prosecuting Attorney, and to lead an outstanding team of dedicated deputy prosecutors, victim advocates, and legal professionals that tackles the many challenges we face each day to improve public safety in King County.

I believe that the highest compliment you can pay to a Prosecutor is to say that he or she is “fair”.  It is our great tradition in King County’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to serve the cause of justice, not just to win cases, and to strive to build a justice system that is fair to all involved.  That was the mission established in 1970 by Christopher T. Bayley, and perfected under my friend and mentor Norm Maleng.

I am proud of our efforts to reduce crime in King County.  Car thefts are down 60% in the last four years.  We are going after burglars and identity thieves with renewed vigor.  We are tough when we need to be, and show mercy when it is appropriate.  

I serve on the Sentencing Guidelines Commission, the Auto Theft Prevention Authority, the State Psychiatric Hospital Review Panel, the Law Enforcement Group Against Identity Theft (LEGIT), and  many more groups dedicated to the reform of our criminal justice system and its overlap with the mental health system. 

But being a good Prosecutor is not enough; I must also be a good candidate.  I am up for re-election in November 2010 and need your help to reach the one million registered voters of King County.  Please take a moment to browse my campaign website.  If you can donate to my campaign, please click on the “donations” link and give my effort a boost.
